Well to cut a long story relatively short, My Best friend of 5 years is coming over to my place for the first time in 1.5months....Nothing to be worried over right? Well it seems hes done a lot of changing in that month...I mean before we could relate with games/computer, and music...but know it seems like he would rather do things with his other friend and some girls they hang out with...We seem to be getting farther and farther apart since i moved out in the country...I've taken up Computers, 4x4ing, casual gaming and hes gone to 'just chilling with Brett, and some chicks, seeing em naked and what not' At first it was pissin me off...but know im really getting depressed over it, hes my only friend (dont get me wrong you guys are my mates to, but well you know what i mean right?) And my mom knows this and its tearing her up, I've gotta snap outta of this and chin up for her...But has he changed as much as hes said...I talked to him on msn and he definitely sounds different, Im scared that by the end of the day, i wont have a best-friend anymore.....

And to add insult to injury, I told him i was getting my wisdom teeth out...not so much as a ****ing call to see how i was, you know who pm'ed me to see how I was, madman! My own best friend cant see how im doing..but yet madman, who hardly knows me asked me how I was...that's the part that makes me really upset...

Anyway enough of the sop story..but in a time like this you guys are all i have left to turn to (when i said i had only one friend i was not joking) and i wouldn't dare talk to my parents about this cause it would just upset them, So know i must put on my sunday smile and see what happens.

P.S. Was friendship the price to pay for seclusion....

Everyone will have gone through something similar and if they tell you not, they are most likely lying. It's just something that happens when you get in the highly volatile teen years (like you are). My best friend growing up through Public and High school, I haven't heard from since i moved up north. No big deal in the end "Why" you might ask - through the years I have had all sort of neat encounters that unexpectedly ended up in friendships. While they might not be based on "the spend every minute you can hanging out" like in your younger years they are based more on common respect than anything else.

So cheer up. Friends come and go, You have no real control over it. When you have to put too much into a friendship for what you are getting out of it sometimes you just have to let it sit for a while and it will be re-kindled by itself.

You might think that the phrase "Bro's before Ho's" is how it should be, but 9 times out of 10 when girls start being involved with your friends they will tend to go awol for a while.

I'm not good at writing stuff like this so if it doesn't make sense sorry. I tried.
Chow for now

Chris - that makes perfect sense, and all too true.

Patrick, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders, your mum is there for you and you have a decent outlook on life for your years. Be true to yourself and look after number one. If your friend is a true mate then all will be ok.

CRB, Jonno, and Simon are absolutely correct. What counts is past, joint experiences, and the forthcoming meeting. Impressions through computer conversations are just that, impressions. Don't let them cloud your judgement.
And when you get to my advanced, ancient, age, you'll realise that only one or two of your friends from thirty years ago are still current. The others are people you used to know, still like, but have lost contact with. You still get on with them on the rare occasions that you meet, but you've acquired a new set of friends and aquaintances.
Meet him and have a good time!!
Regards,

Thanks for all the replies guys, I just made myself all worried for nothing, the only thing thats changed is: The guy is in Love, but he doesn't want to admit it (because his friend 'wants' her) But other than that, same old guy I met in grade 7 :D
