Well it warmed up yesterday, rained and all the snow went so we took the opportunity to move house from our "summer" house up in the hills to our winter house in the village. The thermometer even showed 22*c in the sun

Peeled my rear brakes apart and cleaned out the mud then adjusted the e-brake. Decided to come in when my beer froze.

Rescued a huge chunk of drift wood from the local slip way. Some how it managed to leap into the back of my car ;-). The wood is 4.5Ft long, 3" thick and 8" wide.
That will dry well and get chopped up for the chiminea :-)

Today i mainly did some work on the Land Rover.
Tidied up some wiring, sorted out the phone kit, fixed the interior light (replaced the bulb), started trying to fix some of the leaks from when it rains. Its probably a tall order trying to stop a LR from leaking but i will give it a go.
Regards.

The other day i moved out of my '07 Mack into a '10. I would have taken some pics but it's filthy. Looks the same as the '09 I had last year.

Saturday we were out at 7am to check out a Niva which turned out to be a total dog so had to walk away...and they wanted about £1300 for it. Spent the rest of the day looking for another Niva (or Suzuki SJ  ) but couldn't find one we could afford within 100 miles. Today we were due to check out some more but found out as we were setting off that the guy buying our car has now dropped the amount he's willing to pay so no chance of getting a Niva   Can't get anything worth driving for less than a grand minimum but you need at least 2 for a decent one  so it looks like we'll have to take a chance and get a 2wd Suzuki Swift or similar unless I can get someone to drive over from Uk to buy our current car. It's a Toyota Emina 2.2td 4x4 worth about £2000 which I've started advertising for £1400 with a free holiday in our cottage over here.
Current really pigged off :(

I put less than 170,000km on the '07 but it has just over 600,000 on the odom. the '10 has been in service for 6 months or so and i got it with 138,000km on it. Not even broken in yet.

This mileage is on a Mack. I would consider a Niva run in around 2500km certainly not much more than 5000km

Wife had a Belt failure on the PeeVee. At least she shut it off right away so hopefully didn't warp/crack the heads. Good thing i had a spare belt in the glovebox that i was supposed to swap in a month ago

Heck, maybe I should set up shop - LHD and RHD Nivas, registered in France or UK... hopefully all running soon!!!
The only problem here is the cost of re-registering a car from elsewhere....around 2 grand

Spent one hour arguing about arbitrary changes made by the machinist to my design of a vernier sprocket center hub "because he felt that his design was a 100 times better than mine".

I actually had to haul cylinder head, cam and cambox to his shop to explain how everything was put together and how his approach would not work at all... Seeing him do a major "D'OH!" just made my day.

.....woke up at 3.30am then went out with a group of Hungarian hunters. 3 foxes, 14 pheasants and 4 pigeons later......and I was given a pheasant as a gift. Just need tp persuade Erika to pluck it and cook it now, although she can't even bear to look at it
